Kevin McDonald Workshop: Making a Sketch Comedy Show - Day 1 of 2
Join Kevin McDonald - the weakest but most fun member of the Kids in the Hall - as he teaches the old Kid in the Hall method of writing comedy sketches through improv.

The students have to come to class with 1 or 2 premises for a comedy sketch, like "What if a guy was $10 short of being a millionaire". Kevin starts off the day talking about comedy and teaches the KITH method of writing sketches through improv. He might tell a few KITH anecdotes. He might tell too many. You might have to ask him to stop telling KITH anecdotes.

Kevin picks 4 or 5 of those premises, puts everyone into groups, and then they spend the rest of the day writing them into sketches through improv - and rehearsing them - with Kevin. Everyone gets to be in a sketch. All they need to bring to the workshop is pen and a little paper.

It will be fun and Kevin promises not to nap during class. ($300, All Ages -- THIS IS A TWO DAY WORKSHOP, 10AM - 5PM 11/18 & 11/19)

Our show isn’t just “about” diversity, though! We pride ourselves on putting together a team of stellar writers that dig deeper than racial stereotypes, actors who are at the top of their game, and a directing and producing staff that keeps the wheels constantly turning. No matter what color you are, you will see yourself represented on stage.

The Smartest Man in the World with Greg Proops
Greg Proops is The Smartest Man In The World

Rolling Stone Magazine
“Here he is, though, in front of a live audience each week, bravely recording some of the boldest comedy on the podcasting frontier right now.”

New York Times
“Greg Proops’s bold, never-boring voice takes center stage in this live recording of his renowned podcast.”

It's just Proops and you. There's no fan fare. Proops takes center stage at small table and chair setup with a single microphone. Then he's off. An hour of great conversation that flies by at a break neck clip. He crams the feeling of a great two-way conversation into the lecture-style format of a one-way conversation.

Part professorial, part crazed comedian, Proops forms the show around his talent and passions. The show flows like a love letter to tangents. The Proopcast has been to Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Amsterdam, Montreal, London, Edinburgh, Austin, Cleveland, San Francisco and off the coast of St. Martin in the Caribbean. Now you must fall.

Be there and experience joy for once in your life.

The Crossword Show with Zach Sherwin
Host Zach Sherwin presides as three panelists solve a crossword puzzle live onstage, with everything displayed on a big screen so the crowd can follow the action. The clues work just like the ones in a typical crossword, but they also happen to be rhyming hip-hop lyrics; there's an "Across Clues" and a "Down Clues" rap over the course of the show. Each time the panelists get a clue right, Zach launches them and the audience down a rabbit hole inspired somehow by the answer word. There's comedy, music, trivia, and audience quizzes galore! Astonishing connections and surprises abound! There’s really nothing like it! With guests Arden Myrin, Scott Thompson and Sydnee Washington. ($35 Premium Seating, $25 General Admission, All Ages)

Stuff You Should Know with Josh and Chuck (SOLD OUT)
This show is SOLD OUT. Tickets may be available at the door night-of.

"Stuff You Should Know" is the award-winning podcast hosted by Chuck Bryant and Josh Clark and produced by the venerable website HowStuffWorks. Twice weekly since 2008, "Stuff You Should Know" has released a mind-addling array of episodes, cracking open the mechanics, history and cultural and scientific impact of topics like: Ouija boards, asteroid mining, termites, the use of MDMA to treat mental illness, the game of horseshoes, gender reassignment surgery, what would happen if the Earth stopped spinning, Barbie(r) dolls, peak oil, the effects of going without sleep, bioluminescence, disco, icebergs, the fat tax and so on and so on, totaling nearly 700 episodes and adding two more every Tuesday and Thursday.

Over the years, "Stuff You Should Know" has grown beyond the podcast to include video series like Don't Be Dumb; a pretty good social media presence on Facebook and Twitter where Josh and Chuck chat with their fans, field suggestions and are told what they got wrong in any given episode; and a website, Josh and Chuck's home on the web, StuffYouShouldKnow.com, where they like to share examples of their interests in photos of abandoned places, old Halloween costumes, terrible ideas in history, and other neat stuff. They are also beginning work on a "Stuff You Should Know" book, which they intend to complete and have published before the end of the decade, they hope. They also played themselves in a short lived but much loved scripted TV show on Science channel.

Chuck and Josh live in Atlanta, though not together; instead with their wives, Emilie (Chuck) and Umi (Josh). When they aren't working - but really, in this day and age, when is anyone not working, you know? - Chuck plays in his old man band, as he's a bit of an amateur guitarist, and Josh likes to find and try new cocktail recipes, as he's a bit of an amateur mixologist. Eddie Pepitone (SOLD OUT)
This show is SOLD OUT. Tickets may be available at the door night-of.

Nicknamed “The Bitter Buddha”, comedian Eddie Pepitone is a master of the dark art of comedy. Hailed as a modern day cross between Jackie Gleason, Don Rickles, and Eckhart Tolle, Eddie is a force of nature onstage, switching between social rage and self-doubt. His shows are an energetic combo of calm and chaos, blue-collar angst and sardonic enlightenment. It’s no wonder that Eddie is considered a favorite of such other comedy greats as Patton Oswalt, Marc Maron, Sarah Silverman, and Zach Galifianakis. His international debut at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival was lauded as a “tour-de-force” and “jaw-achingly hilarious”.

His comedy album "A Great Stillness" debuted on Billboard’s Comedy Top 10 and he was the subject of the award-winning documentary "The Bitter Buddha," which was hailed as “an instant classic”. His hour-long comedy special, "Eddie Pepitone: In Ruins," debuted on Netflix. Eddie is also a social media stalwart and his Twitter account @eddiepepitone has been hailed as a “must-follow”.

In addition to his regular stand-up performances, Eddie is a stand-out character actor. On the television front, he has been a mainstay on American broadcast and cable networks, recurring on "Community," "Maron," "Conan," "Kickin’ It," "Bob’s Burgers," "Love," and "Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell." Other notable turns include "Will & Grace," "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "Corporate," "The Goldbergs," "Arrested Development," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "The Flight of the Conchords," "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "Chappelle’s Show," two seasons of "Last Comic Standing," and "The Sarah Silverman Program."

On the feature side, Eddie was seen in the hit comedy "Old School" opposite Will Ferrell, the Sundance entry "Terri" with John C. Reilly, "The Living Wake" opposite Jesse Eisenberg, and the Anna Paquin indie drama "Free Ride," to name a few.
